Gold dealers seek hallmarking centres #FinanceIndia #StockMarketNEWS #Business

The Goa Gold Dealers’ Association has received assurances from Union Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal in their appeal to set up hallmarking centres in the state.

The association had recently submitted a memorandum highlighting the hardships their trade faces and the little support they have received from the government. Their demands included the need to have one law for the market that is implemented uniformly. Association president Pramit Raikar said, “The minister immediately took cognisance of our views and instructed the Director of Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) to allow us to set up hallmarking centre. We also received assurances that raw material in the form of pure gold will be supplied through the State Bank of India (SBI) branches in Goa.???

In the memorandum, the association has highlighted the hardships their trade had faced and the little support they have received from the government. Their demands included the need to have one law for the market that is implemented uniformly.
