ONDC platform to provide uniform opportunities to e-tailers, traders & consumers: CAIT New Delhi, Jul 7 (KNN) The Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) has complimented the centre for setting up Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) and said it will provide uniform opportunities to all e-commerce entities in conducting their businesses.

CAIT has complimented Union Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal for taking such an innovative initiative to bring reforms in e-commerce business in India. It will be one of the most innovative initiative in e-commerce by any Government in the World that will provide uniform opportunities to all e-commerce entities conducting their business activities through any mode of e-commerce, said B C Bhartia, National President and Praveen Khandelwal, Secretary General of the CAIT on Wednesday.

Notably, Khandelwal has been nominated as the member of the ONDC Advisory Council by the Ministry of Commerce and the CAIT is spearheading a national movement for the past many years advocating even level playing field in the e-commerce market of the country.

The inclusion of eminent technologist Nandan Nilkeni and experienced bureaucrat R S Sharma will enrich the proceedings of the Council in a most systematic manner.

Inclusion of NSDL, NPCI, and QCI will prove to be much beneficial for building an open network for Digital Commerce, they added.

Khandelwal further said that the open network protocol is expected to act as a force multiplier for end beneficiaries: customers, application developers, governments, and businesses by creating an interoperable open playground to unlock value and innovation.

This will be most impactful for MSMEs and small traders looking to unlock value and scale their operations through the digital commerce space. This will be a first-of-its-kind initiative in the world to create a level playing field for digital commerce at the scale of a country like India, he added.
