11 industrial corridors with 32 projects approved under NICP New Delhi, Aug 5 (KNN) The government has approved development of 11 Industrial Corridors with 32 Projects as part of the National Industrial Corridor Programme (NICP), Minister of State, Commerce and Industry, Som Parkash informed the parliament.

The projects would be developed in four phases in the country. Some of these are under various stages of conceptualization, development and implementation, the minister said in a written reply in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday.

The major projects include the Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor, Chennai Bengaluru Industrial Corridor and Amritsar Kolkata Industrial Corridor.

He also said that the objective of developing the industrial corridors is to expand the industrial output, increase employment opportunities, provide better living and social facilities for the new and growing workforce by way of providing plug-and- play infrastructure at the plot level for industries.
